Tax Preparation, Planning, and IRS Representation

We are now accepting new clients.
New clients will be accepted on an extension-only basis: for your first year with us, we will file an extension for you and prepare and file your returns during the extended filing period between April and October. Please call the office if you have any questions about this policy or any aspect of our process.

Carrie is an Enrolled Agent (EA), the highest credential a tax professional can earn from the IRS and a designation recognizing her as one of "America's Tax Experts." EAs are the only federally licensed tax preparers who also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.

An Enrolled Agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers (both individuals and businesses) before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by passing a series of rigorous exams, demonstrating mastery of tax rules and regulations. Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Enrolled Agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.

It is surprising to most people that many of the tax preparers in business today have no formal credentials reflecting competency in tax preparation; and that currently there are no federal regulations that require tax preparers to show evidence of competency in tax rules and regulations.

Carrie has extensive experience with federal and state tax returns for individuals, families, businesses, estates and trusts. Carrie currently serves clients from across the country, and around the world, including Iowa, Illinois, New York, California, New Jersey, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Washington, Thailand, Russia, China, Canada, and others. One of her areas of expertise and interest is self-employed individuals, including artists, freelance workers, sole proprietors, and small business owners. Carrie takes a keen interest in all of her clients, and provides tax-planning advice year-round.

She generally e-files all returns and recommends direct deposit so you can receive your refund quickly!
