To file for Iowa unemployment benefits (even if you’re self-employed), go to Iowa Workforce Development. There is information about applying for CARES Act benefits on the home page.
For information on the help available to small Iowa businesses, check out the resources at Iowa Economic Development. This page has links to information about tax deferrals, available loans, and grant programs.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has guidance on their website regarding various loans, debt relief and a job retention program.
If you live in a state other than Iowa, check your local economic development commission, department of employment services and/or small business administration. Most of them will have information about the impact of COVID-19 and any relief measures available.
We wish you all the best as we muddle through this crisis together!
